From 2008-2012 I was involved in a project documenting the progress of Phumani Paper, a post-apartheid, poverty relief program founded in the 90's by artist and activist Kim Berman. Women from townships and informal settlements were taught to transform recycled trash and overgrown weeds into paper products to sell throughout South Africa.
